ReplyDeleteMy grandmother came from Germany as a child and grew up in Cleveland before moving to Nebraska. That was her favorite saying and it was a hoot to hear her say it with her combined accents.

DeleteFWIW If you remember about 20 years ago, there was an earthquake out in the Pacific and one of its effects was that the ocean rolled away in front of Jakarta in Indonesia and people who walked out onto the ocean floor were killed when the ocean came rolling back in.

DeleteThere was another site that used to have a lot of humor, even when discussing political shenanigans. Then, in the leadup to the US getting their first batch of BO, the commenters decided they needed to imitate the relentless seriousness of the Woke crowd. Going to the site became a real chore, and I eventually stopped going there.
